JO-HS Digital Exhibition

Virtual Extension of a Physical Exhibition

About the Project

This project consists of a fully navigable virtual exhibition developed for JO-HS Gallery, extending the physical presentation of Apples and Frostbites by Norwegian painter Morten Slettemeås into a digital environment.

The objective was to create an accessible online exhibition that preserved spatial presence while integrating direct access to individual artworks.

Explore the Exhibition

The full navigable experience is embedded below.
Visitors can move freely through the space to experience transitions, scale, and atmosphere in real time.

Exhibition Context

Apples and Frostbites marked Slettemeås’ first exhibition with the gallery.

The body of work explores the fragile tension between beauty and vulnerability in nature, drawing from the artist’s upbringing in Gvarv, a Norwegian region known for apple cultivation.

Through alternating figurative and abstract painting, the exhibition reflects on seasonal transformation, memory, and the emotional weight of landscape.

The apple becomes both symbol and atmospheric trigger — representing abundance, change, and the delicate balance between vitality and exposure.

Digital Implementation

The virtual environment was developed to replicate exhibition flow while allowing global accessibility.

Key features include:

  • Fully navigable 3D exhibition space

  • Accurate scale representation of artworks

  • Integrated artwork links for direct image access

  • Structured layout aligned with curatorial intent

Each artwork is embedded with interactive links, enabling viewers to explore high-resolution images and detailed information without leaving the exhibition environment.

This transforms passive viewing into layered engagement.

Artwork Interaction System

All exhibited works are digitally mapped and tagged.

Visitors can:

  • Click directly on artworks

  • Access individual artwork pages

  • View detailed imagery and contextual information

This feature bridges spatial immersion with archival accessibility — combining exhibition experience with digital catalog functionality.

Artist Background
